Haryana Assembly Polls 2024: 67 names in BJP's Initial Haryana polls list, including CM
Nayab Singh Saini will be contesting from the Ladwa assembly constituency.
Haryana Assembly Polls 2024: In a strategic move to gain early momentum in the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its initial list of 67 candidates for the state's 90 constituencies. This move highlights the party's intent to solidify its position and build on its previous successes.
The list features prominent names, including Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and former minister Anil Vij. Chief Minister Saini will be contesting from the Ladwa constituency. Saini, who previously served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kurukshetra, took over as Haryana's Chief Minister from Manohar Lal Khattar in March 2024. He is currently representing the Karnal Assembly seat, which he secured in a bypoll held in June 2024.
Anil Vij, a veteran BJP leader, will be the party's candidate for the Ambala Cantonment constituency. Vij has a strong track record in this seat, having won it in three consecutive elections since 2009. His candidacy underscores the BJP's focus on retaining key strongholds and leveraging experienced leaders in pivotal constituencies.
The BJP's early announcement of candidates is seen as a strategic move to establish a strong presence in the Haryana Assembly elections and to potentially influence the electoral dynamics in the state.
