Haryana Assembly Elections 2024: After casting her vote in the Haryana elections, Congress candidate from Julana Constituency Vinesh Phogat said today is a big festival and a very big day for people in the state.
On Saturday, Phogat went to a polling station in Charkhi Dadri to vote in the Haryana elections.
"It is a big festival in Haryana and a very important day for the people of the state. I am urging the people of the state to come and vote. When Bhupinder Hooda was Chief Minister 10 years ago, the state's sports were at a very high level. It is not in my hands (to become a minister) but in the hands of the highest command..." Vinesh said.
This election is a high-stakes battle since the BJP is fighting for a third consecutive term in power in the state, while the Congress party is hoping to reclaim power on the basis of anti-incumbency sentiment on issues such as farmer and wrestler protests.
The BJP, Congress, and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are among the main contenders in Haryana, as is the pre-poll alliance formed by the Indian National Lok Dal-Bahujan Samaj Party (INLD-BSP) and the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP)-Azad Samaj Party (ASP).
Voting in Haryana began at 7 a.m. There are 1,031 candidates running in all 90 assembly constituencies, with 20,632 polling booths set up for voting. The results of the Haryana Assembly elections, along with those of Jammu and Kashmir, will be released on October 8.
