Haryana Assembly Election Result 2024: The counting of votes for Assembly elections in Haryana has begun amid tight security. 93 counting sites have been established for 90 assembly constituencies across 22 districts in the state, according to Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Agarwal.

The Badshahpur, Gurugram, and Pataudi assembly constituencies each have two counting centres, while the remaining 87 assembly constituencies will have one each. To monitor the counting process, the Election Commission has also assigned 90 counting observers.

Agarwal stated that adequate security precautions had been arranged for the counting. A total of 30 Central Armed Police Force companies have been dispatched to 93 counting centres. The counting centres now have three tiers of protection. Central security forces have been placed within the tightest security cover. Following that, state-armed police and district police officers would be deployed in the outermost cover. Around 12,000 police officers are on duty at counting centres across the state.

Agarwal added adequate checkpoints have been established within a 100-meter perimeter of each counting centre. CCTV cameras have been put in all 90 strong rooms containing EVMs to closely monitor all activity. Unauthorised individuals will be prevented from entering certain places. To provide extensive surveillance, CCTV cameras have been installed at the main entrance as well as throughout the counting centres' premises.

Key constituencies to look out for

Julana Assembly Constituency

The much-hyped Julana constituency has been in the spotlight since the Congress party chose ex-Olympian wrestler-turned-politician Vinesh Phogat to face BJP leader Yogesh Bairagi. The constituency is a general seat.

Garhi Sampla-Kiloi

Rohtak's Garhi Sampla-Kiloi assembly constituency, considered the most high-profile assembly seat in Haryana, will decide the fate of Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Haryana's former chief minister, who was pitted against BJP candidate Manju Hooda.

Ladwa Assembly Seat

One of the most important assembly seats, the Ladwa constituency in Kurukshetra district, will feature a close political contest between Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Congress rival Mewa Singh, the current MLA from the seat. Joga Singh is the candidate for the seat from the AAP.

Uchana Kalan Assembly Constituency

Dushyant Chautala, former deputy chief minister of Haryana and a JJP leader, is running for the Uchana Kalan seat. His party was in an alliance with the BJP, but it pulled out months before the elections.
