PTC News Desk: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday asked social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to remove an objectionable video posted by the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Karnataka unit. This comes in the midst of ongoing controversy over the animated video released by the BJP Karnataka unit on May 4.

On Sunday, the Congress filed a FIR against BJP President JP Nadda, IT cell head Amit Malviya, and the party's Karnataka unit president BY Vijayendra over this matter.

The BJP's animated video criticises Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Siddaramaiah, in keeping with the party's claims that the grand old party wants to distribute wealth among Muslims by taking away the rights of SCs, STs, and OBCs.

The 17-second video starts with three eggs (labelled SC, ST, and OBC) put in a nest. It then shows caricatures of Rahul Gandhi and Siddaramaiah putting another egg (labelled Muslim) in the nest. As the chicks hatch from their eggs, the video shows Gandhi's caricature feeding only the one with "Muslims" written on it.
