Delhi Assembly elections: BJP manifesto promises Rs 21,000 for pregnant women, health reforms in national capital

BJP President JP Nadda assured that if party assumes power in Delhi, it will implement Centre's Ayushman Bharat health scheme

PTC Web Desk: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday launched its manifesto for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, outlining a series of welfare promises aimed at empowering women and senior citizens. Party president and Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda presented the manifesto, titled 'Sankalp Patra', emphasising the BJP's focus on development, governance, and social welfare.

Among the key proposals, the BJP pledged Rs 2,500 per month to every woman in Delhi under the Mahila Samridhi Yojana, with the scheme set to be approved in the first Cabinet meeting. The party also promised Rs 21,000 to pregnant women as part of its maternal support initiative. Additionally, the BJP announced a Rs 500 subsidy per LPG cylinder for families using the fuel, along with one free cylinder each during the festivals of Holi and Diwali.

Nadda also highlighted the introduction of Atal Canteens in JJ clusters, providing affordable meals at Rs 5. For senior citizens, the BJP promised an increase in pension amounts, with individuals aged 60-70 to receive Rs 2,500 per month and those above 70 to get Rs 3,000.

Nadda stated that in 2020, the BJP had delivered on 499 out of 500 promises made, and in 2019, fulfilled 225 out of 235 pledges.

HE said the manifesto aimed to present a vision for a developed Delhi, with a continued focus on social welfare schemes for the city's residents.
