PTC Web Desk: Senior SAD leader Bikramjit Singh Majithia has accused the Punjab Government of misusing state's resources by providing Z security to Bibhav Kumar, personal assistant and OSD to AAP chief and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

In a video statement, Bikram Singh Majithia flayed the Punjab Government's decision, questioning why taxpayers' money was being spent on a non-resident of the state. “If Bibhav Kumar faces any threat, the Delhi government should ensure his security. Why should Punjab's resources be used for this?” he asked.

Majithia strongly opposed the move, citing the withdrawal of security for singer Sidhu Moosewala, whose murder followed shortly after the decision. “The same government that failed to protect Moosewala is now prioritising the security of a Delhi resident,” he said.

He said Bibhav Kumar, who faced allegations of misconduct involving women, had been jailed in the past. “Why is a person with such a history being granted Z security?” Majithia questioned.

Majithia highlighted the financial implications of Z security, which involves the deployment of 60–70 police personnel working round the clock. “This arrangement will cost Punjab millions, a state already burdened with debt. Why should the people of Punjab pay for the security of a non-Punjabi?” he argued.

Majithia also criticised the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab, pointing out instances of attacks on police stations and grenade assaults on civilians. He accused the Punjab Police of prioritising the security of Delhi residents over addressing pressing safety concerns within the state.

“Punjab is witnessing a breakdown in governance, yet the focus remains on protecting individuals from outside the state. This is unacceptable,” he said.

Majithia demanded that the Punjab Government should reconsider its decision and called for the Delhi Police to take responsibility for Kumar’s security. “Punjab's resources should be dedicated to ensuring the safety of its own people, not outsiders,” he said.
