Chandigarh mayor elections: Tussle breaks out between Congress-AAP, BJP workers
Chandigarh mayor elections: High drama ensued outside the UT's Municipal Corporation office on Tuesday as workers of ruling BJP leaders and Congress-AAP clashed ahead of the Chandigarh mayor elections.
The conflict erupted after councillor Jasbir Singh Bunty, the Congress' nominee for mayor, came to withdraw his nomination following an alliance with the AAP. During the commotion, police took Bunty inside the MC office for a meeting with party leaders.
While Congress president HS Lucky claimed that Bunty's father was influenced by the BJP, the ruling party claimed that the opposition was preventing Bunty from coming out.
