PTC News Desk: Former Jharkhand chief minister and senior Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Champai Soren arrived in Delhi on Sunday, sparking speculations of a probable switch to the BJP.

The visit to the capital has created a frenzy of political activity, with rumours circling about his possible defection before this year's Jharkhand assembly elections.

Soon after arriving at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, Soren rebuffed questions about the possible defection, saying, "I have come here for my personal work."

Reportedly, the former chief minister of Jharkhand met with BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari in Kolkata yesterday. Soren was accompanied by four other JMM leaders on his visit to the national capital.

Despite the growing buzz, Soren has officially downplayed the rumours. "I'm not familiar with such assumptions and claims... I am where I am," he stated on Saturday.

Soren became Chief Minister of Jharkhand in February of this year, following the arrest of Hemant Soren by the Enforcement Directorate in a high-profile money laundering case. His term as Jharkhand's 12th Chief Minister was brief; he resigned in July, allowing Hemant Soren to resume his role as the state's leader.
