Bihar Political Turmoil: Nitish Kumar resigns, massive blow to INDIA bloc
Bihar Political Turmoil: After days of speculation surrounding Nitish Kumar's turnaround, the Bihar CM has resigned from his post. Breaking away from the Mahagathbandhan government, the Bihar leader will likely form an alliance with the BJP.
This is the fourth time Nitish Kumar has switched sides.
On Sunday, the national president of the Janata Dal (United) arrived at Patna's Raj Bhavan and handed over his resignation to Governor Rajendra Arlekar.
When Nitish visited the Governor at Raj Bhavan, he informed him that "we have decided to cut off ties with the Mahagathbandhan in the state".

"I have resigned as Chief Minister, effectively ending this government. I was getting suggestions from all around. I left an earlier alliance to form a new one. But the situation was not okay. So I've resigned," he told reporters. On what comes next, he stated that "parties will meet and a decision will be made".
He also mentioned the INDIA bloc and how things weren't moving. "I got an alliance forged, but nobody was doing anything," he said, referring to the Opposition bloc that plans to challenge the BJP in this year's Lok Sabha elections.
