PGI-Chandigarh is the 3rd cleanest Centre-run hospital, AIIMS-Delhi on the top

The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh has got the third rank in Kayakalp Awards, which were presented by the Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Friday. The All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, was again on the top among the cleanest central government hospital, followed by JIPMER-Puducherry and PGI-Chandigarh, who got second and third position respectively. Dr. Harsh Vardhan gave awards which include Rs 3 crore to AIIMS-Delhi, Rs 1.5 crore to JIPMER-Puducherry and Rs 50 lakh each to PGIMER-Chandigarh and Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi. The Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi got the commendation award. While in category B, VBCH-Silvassa won Rs 2 crore and AIIMS-Bhubaneswar got the runner-up prize of Rs 1 crore. Likewise, NEIGRIHMS-Shillong, LGBRIMH-Tezpur, and AIIMS-Bhopal won Rs 50 lakh each as commendation awards in category B. Also, Read | Delhi: Baby Girl successfully delivered amid fire broke out in AIIMS Meanwhile, the Union Minister Harsh Vardhan facilitated the district hospitals, primary health centers, and community health centers. 29 hospitals won the first prize, 14 hospitals bagged second prize while the third prize was won by just two hospitals. Meanwhile, the Kayakalp scheme has now been extended to the private sectors as well and 11 private facilities were given on Friday. -PTC News
