Petition filed in HC challenging Raghav Chadha's appointment as advisory panel chief
Mohali, July 12: A petition has been filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court challenging the appointment of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha as the chairman of a temporary advisory panel. The petition has described the move as "unconstitutional".
Jagmohan Bhatti, an advocate in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, has challenged the appointment of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha as the chairman of a temporary advisory panel. The move has invited sharp criticism from opposition parties.
In the petition filed in the High Court, Jagmohan Bhatti demanded the cancellation of the appointment. The matter is expected to be heard after two days.

MP Raghav Chadha, Delhi CM and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Secretary and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann have also been made party in the petition. It has been argued that the appointment is illegal. The notification has also been declared illegal.
The Punjab Government has been claiming that Raghav Chadha would help improve the financial condition by checking revenue theft. An advisory board was recently set up to advise the government on the issues of public interest.
