Mohali, July 12: A petition has been filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court challenging the appointment of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha as the chairman of a temporary advisory panel. The petition has described the move as "unconstitutional". Jagmohan Bhatti, an advocate in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, has challenged the appointment of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha as the chairman of a temporary advisory panel. The move has invited sharp criticism from opposition parties. In the petition filed in the High Court, Jagmohan Bhatti demanded the cancellation of the appointment. The matter is expected to be heard after two days. It has been argued that the appointment is illegal. The notification has also been declared illegal. The Punjab Government has been claiming that Raghav Chadha would help improve the financial condition by checking revenue theft. An advisory board was recently set up to advise the government on the issues of public interest. After his appointment, Raghav Chadha also met Bhagwant Mann and touched his feet to seek his blessings. “Mann Sahib has honoured me with an opportunity to do ‘Sewa’ of the people of Punjab. I sought his blessings as I begin my new role. Will give my blood, sweat, tears and toil to make my elder brother and CM@Bhagwant Mann proud,” he tweeted with a short video clip. However, when the AAP won the Punjab Assembly elections with a majority, Raghav Chadha resigned as Delhi MLA. Thereafter, the AAP sent him to the Rajya Sabha from Punjab. Now, he has been made the chairman of the interim advisory committee, a move that has created political uproar.
