OPD services at Bathinda AIIMS to start today

The much-awaited OPD services in 12 departments at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bathinda, will begin its functioning on Monday. Bathinda-AIIMS was approved under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha scheme in July 2016. The foundation stone of Rs 925-crore centrally-funded project, was laid by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 25, 2016. AIIMS will provide a super-specialty and affordable healthcare facilities to the people of the south Malwa region. The OPD services which is scheduled to begin after 1 pm on Monday will be inaugurated by Union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan. Union Minister for food processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Punjab health minister Balbir Singh Sidhu and Minister for medical education and research Om Prakash Soni will be present at the inaugural function. https://www.ptcnews.tv/zirakpur-road-accident-one-dead-police-booth-destroyed/ The OPDs in the department of orthopaedic, general surgery, including surgical oncology and urologist paediatric surgery consultation, general medicine, ENT, ophthalmology, psychiatry, dermatology, gynaecology and obstetrics, dental, radiology (X- Ray, ultrasound and colour doppler, basic bio-chemistry and basic haematology will kick-off on Monday. On Sunday, Harsimrat Kaur Badal took to twitter and wrote: "Happy to announce that health min @drharshvardhan ji will dedicate 12 OPD depts of #AIIMSBathinda to public tomorrow. I am grateful to PM @narendramodi ji for giving us this premier institute that will cater to the need of advanced super specialty health care in Malwa region." -PTC News
