Now, pay development fee to enter Kasol, Manikaran

A visit to Kasauli and Manikaran in the Parbati valley of Himachal Pradesh is all set to cost you more. The Kullu administration has installed a barrier about 2 km from Kasol to collect development fee from vehicles coming from outside the state. However, vehicles registered in Himachal Pradesh remain exempted. A decision in this regard was taken by the Special Area Development Authority (SADA), Manikaran. The amount collected at the Kasol barrier will be used for providing the basic facilities in the area. The entry fee for a two-wheeler is Rs 50, for a car Rs 100 and for SUV and MUV, the fee has been fixed at Rs 300. An amount of Rs 500 will be charged from all types of buses and trucks. The tourist influx also increased after the Himachal Government announced several relaxations in curfew restrictions. As the temperatures are rising in plains, tourists have started visiting Kullu and Manali. A large number of tourists from Punjab, Haryana and Delhi are visiting Manikaran, Kasol, Tirthan, Jibhi, Rohtang, Solang Nala and other popular destinations. They are also heading towards Lahaul and Spiti through the Atal Tunnel. Manali, too, is another preferred location for tourists because of its pleasant weather and scenic beauty. -PTC News
