New online transfer policy for Punjab teachers soon; wives and mothers of soldiers to benefit

Mohali, August 31: The Punjab Government will soon be introducing a new online transfer policy for teachers. School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said it would be implemented in two weeks. Teachers willing to take transfer can apply on the department's portal. The major change that is being introduced in the new transfer policy is that now the wives and mothers of soldiers will be allotted station according to their convenience. Earlier, only patients of cancer, black jaundice, anaemia, thalassemia, those undergoing dialysis, disabled, widows of martyrs and divorcee could get preference for choice posting. Giving information, School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said important changes were being made in the new transfer policy. Now, preference would also be given in cases such as illness of husband or wife or children, newly married, widow, blind, disabled and especially military families. New online transfer policy for Punjab teachers soon; wives and mothers of soldiers to benefit Earlier, former Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh had implemented the transfer policy for teachers in 2018, in which any teacher was prohibited from staying at one place for more than seven years and the transfer of teachers was not allowed before three years. Now the government could reduce or increase this time, or it can be implemented only in border areas. Those employees who are suffering from cancer, Hepatitis-B, Hepatitis-C, Anaemia, thalassemia or undergoing dialysis, divyangs, divorcee, blind, widows of martyrs, wives and mothers of soldiers will have to fill in their transfer applications online by looking at the option. Notably, in 2021, 10,099 were transferred online. While 35,386 teachers and volunteers had applied for transfer online.
