Woman delivers baby on bus | In a heartwarming and dramatic turn of events, a 37-year-old woman gave birth to a healthy baby on a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus in Thrissur, Kerala.
The incident unfolded when the woman was travelling with her husband from Thrissur to Thottilpalam in Kozhikode and experienced severe labour pains as the bus crossed Peramangalam village.
As the situation quickly escalated, the bus conductor and passengers sprang into action to assist her. The bus driver promptly altered the route and headed directly to Amala Hospital in Thrissur, notifying the hospital about the emergency.
Passengers were deboarded so that doctors and nurses could provide prompt medical assistance.
Images uploaded on social media show the bus stopping at the hospital, with staff members rushing to help the mother and her newborn inside the vehicle. The medical crew loaded vital equipment into the bus to guarantee a safe delivery.
Following the successful delivery, the mother and her baby girl were transferred to the hospital for further care. Hospital officials have confirmed that both mother and child are in good health and are not facing any complications.
