PTC News Desk: Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Thursday made a big claim, saying that the BJP was trying to seize the CM's residence because it could not get the post. She further stated that the BJP could keep the bungalow if it wanted because AAP leaders "live in people's hearts".

Delhi CM's strong remarks come amid a face-off between the Aam Aadmi Party and the Centre over Atishi's alleged eviction from her official residence.

In a series of jabs at the BJP, Atishi claimed the party has been using one ploy after another, including 'Operation Lotus' to thwart the AAP-led Delhi government's activities.  'Operation Lotus' is a term used by opposition parties to allege that the BJP poaches and bribes MLAs in order to form governments in states it has lost.

"The BJP is worried because it cannot defeat us in elections. When they are unable to form a government, they launch 'Operation Lotus' and arrest the leaders. They couldn't have their own chief minister, so they tried seizing the chief minister's house. If this brings them peace, they are free to do so," she said.

"We didn't get into politics to live in big cars and big bungalows; if necessary, we'll run the government from the road. The BJP can enjoy the bungalow; we live in people's hearts," she said.

On September 21, Atishi took the oath of office as chief minister. The AAP president Arvind Kejriwal had stated that he was leaving the office after receiving bail from the Supreme Court on the liquor policy issue and that he would return only if the AAP is re-elected in the Delhi Assembly elections next year and he gets justice in the people's court.

The AAP alleged on Tuesday that Atishi was evicted from CM's official home just two days after she moved in.
