Fire at coaching centre : Panic and chaos triggered in Delhi as a massive fire broke out in coaching centre at Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar.
In a video, students and people in the building were seen rappelling down as they escape from the building using electric wires as fire broke out in the building.
According to the sources, as many as 11 fire tenders rushed to the site and a rescue operation is underway.
According to the information received, the fire broke out in an electricity metre and the smoke engulfed the coaching centre. As the fire broke out students rappelled down from the back side of the coaching centre.
Meanwhile, as per the statement by Delhi Fire Department , "All persons have been rescued from the building; fire fighting operation concluded. So far, no major injuries reported."
In a major update, fire-fighting operation in a building in Delhi's Mukherjee Nagar that housed a coaching centre concluded on Thursday afternoon with fire service officials saying that some students got scared and came out of the window.
Delhi Police PRO Suman Nalwa said fire broke out in a electricity meter of the building.
"A few students received injuries as they were escaping from the building where the fire broke out today. No person is trapped in the building. The fire broke out in the electricity meter of the building. Panic caused due to rising smoke," she said.
"All persons have been rescued from the building, fire-fighting operation has concluded," the a Fire Services official said.
