Viral video: Karnataka man slips, falls in waterfall while making Instagram reel
Viral video: A young man was washed away at Karnataka's Arasinagundi Falls near Shivamogga’s Kollur on Sunday evening while making Instagram reels. The incident was caught on camera by his friend who was shooting while he was performing.
The video of the incident went viral on social media with several people reacting. In the video, the man could be seen standing at the edge of the river. As he starts performing, he slips into the river and got washed away with the heavy flow of water.
According to local media sources, rescue teams are looking for the man and he is yet to be found. A case has been filed at Kollur police station. The family of the young man has also reached Kollur.
Orange alert in coastal Karnataka
Heavy rains are expected to continue in North, Central, and Coastal Karnataka over the next few days, with water levels in many reservoirs already rising. The IMD has already issued an Orange alert in coastal Karnataka, and schools and colleges in Udupi, Dharwad, and other areas have announced a holiday.
Selfie Deaths in Karnataka
Many selfie deaths occurred in popular tourist locations across the state. Four girls died in November after falling down a waterfall while taking photos near Kitwad Falls in Belagavi district. The state government has prohibited taking selfies near the famed Gokak Falls in Belagavi regions and warned of serious punishments for violators.
