Vijaya Kishore Rahatkar appointed National Commission for Women chairperson

The appointment, made under Section 3 of the National Commission for Women Act of 1990, will last three years or until she turns 65, whichever comes first, according to a government statement issued on Saturday.

PTC News Desk: Centre has officially nominated Vijaya Kishore Rahatkar to serve as Chairperson of the National Commission for Women (NCW).

The appointment, made under Section 3 of the National Commission for Women Act of 1990, will last three years or until she turns 65, whichever comes first, according to a government statement issued on Saturday.

Rahatkar's tenure will start immediately. The announcement will be published in the Gazette of India.

In addition to Rahatkar's appointment, the administration has appointed new members of the NCW.

Dr. Archana Majumdar has been officially appointed to the National Commission for Women (NCW) for a three-year term, according to a statement from the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
