US agency alerts Mumbai police over ‘suicide without pain’ search on Google; cops save youth

Mumbai, February 16: After a law-enforcement agency based in US found that a person was searching on Google about how to end his life without pain, it immediately sent an alert to the Mumbai police. Cops immediately swung into action and traced a 25-year-old man and stopped him from dying by suicide.
The Mumbai Police traced the youth on the basis on information such as IP address and location shared by US National Central Bureau-Interpol. The victim was traced to an IT company in Kurla area. The police immediately reached him and counselled him.
The youth who is a resident of Jogeshwari area is an IT engineer with a private company. It is learnt that he was upset due to mounting debt in view of loans he had taken from various financial institutions for education and other requirements.
He went into depression after he failed to pay the housing loan instalments. He started looking for ways to end life without pain. The youth was counselled and sent home.
