UP shocker: A man in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur killed himself after killing his wife, mother, and three children. The incident occurred in Palhapur village of Rampur Mathura, Sitapur.
According to the reports, the 42-year-old Anurag Singh, 42 was a drug addict and alcoholic. He murdered his entire family before killing himself at their Palhapur home. Anurag, who was also mentally challenged, frequently clashed with his family because they wanted to send him to a de-addiction facility, they added.
On Saturday morning, Anurag got into a fight with his family while drunk. When the family demanded that he be admitted to a rehabilitation centre, he went on a rampage.
First, he shot and killed his mother Savitri (65) in her room. He then used a hammer to bludgeon his wife Priyanka (40) to death. He threw his three children, Ashwini (12), Aarna (9) and Advik (6), off the roof of their home, killing two of them. He later killed himself by shooting himself.
When police arrived, they found Advik injured and five bodies lying around the house. He was rushed to Lucknow Trauma Centre, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Following the killings, chaos broke out in the quiet village, and a large crowd gathered outside the house as the bodies were taken for post-mortem examination.
"The police and forensic teams are investigating every aspect of the case. "A case will be filed once detailed investigation is completed," senior police officer Chakresh Mishra stated.
