According to police, the house collapsed as a result of the explosion, and several persons are believed to be trapped under the debris.
"In the Shikohabad PS area, firecrackers were kept in a house, and a blast took place there. The intensity of the explosion caused the roof of a nearby house to fall. Police evacuated 10 victims from the debris...6 persons are being treated in a hospital, and four have died...rescue operation is still underway," said Deepak Kumar, IG of the Agra Range.
"A rescue team is present on the scene. The district and sub-district hospitals are both on high alert...a team of doctors, an ambulance, a fire team, and a disaster team are all present on the scene," Firozabad District Magistrate Ramesh Ranjan stated.
