The explosion, which occurred near the Sirauli police station, also damaged several nearby buildings, they added.
A senior police official stated that Nasir reportedly had a licence for another location, but the house where the incident occurred belonged to his in-laws.
"Three people have died and many have been injured in an explosion at a firecracker-making unit in the Sirauli area of Bareilly district," Inspector General (Bareilly Range) Rakesh Singh said. "The explosion also caused damage to three or four adjoining buildings." Nasir, the person who was managing the firecracker unit, has been identified," Singh stated.
Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister, took note of the occurrence. He expressed his condolences for the loss of lives and urged officials to ensure that those injured in the blast received proper treatment.
IG Singh stated that he was on his way to directly oversee the situation and relief operations, where other district officials, including police, had already arrived.
According to officials, local police teams, as well as personnel from the health and fire departments, rushed to the scene as soon as they learnt of the incident to begin rescue efforts.
