PTC News Desk: A tragic accident in Gurugram has claimed the life of a 23-year-old biker, Akshat Garg, after he was allegedly struck by a car traveling on the wrong side of the road. The incident occurred on Sunday while Akshat was riding with friends on Golf Course Road in DLF Phase II.

The driver of the Mahindra XUV 300, responsible for the crash, has been arrested but was later released on bail. The collision was captured on a GoPro action camera mounted on a friend's bike, providing a clear record of the events leading up to the tragedy.

The footage shows Akshat, a resident of Dwarka, Delhi, riding safely while wearing a helmet and gloves. As he made a slight turn, the vehicle appeared suddenly, hitting him head-on and causing him to be thrown off his bike and onto the road behind the car.

Emergency services responded quickly, but despite their efforts, Akshat succumbed to his injuries. "An FIR has been registered under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and the accused has been apprehended according to the law," stated the Gurugram Police.

In light of this incident, the police highlighted their ongoing efforts to combat wrong-side driving, having issued over 16,000 challans for such violations in August alone. Authorities emphasised their commitment to taking strict action against reckless driving in order to enhance road safety.
