Tech saves life: As we all know that Apple watches can help you track important health information, including your menstrual cycle, high and low heart rates, and irregularities in heart rhythm and will also keep you in touch with your loved ones with the Messages, Mail, Phone, and Walkie-Talkie apps, it’s easy to communicate with family, friends, and coworkers, but have you ever heard of an Apple device saving woman’s life?

Yes, you read it right. Isn’t it a miracle that a smart watch can save a woman's life?

A recent incident came to a limelight which unfolded on an Air India flight from Delhi to San Francisco when a 56-year-old woman fell seriously ill mid-flight, experiencing dizziness and repeated vomiting.

Dr Gigy V Kuruttukulam, the medical director at Rajagiri Hospital in Kerala, who happened to be aboard, swiftly intervened to assist the woman.

Identifying himself with his ID card, Dr Kuruttukulam used the woman's Apple smartwatch to assess her condition in the absence of conventional medical equipment. He monitored her heartbeat, oxygen levels, and even conducted an electrocardiogram using the watch. His assessment revealed low oxygen saturation and elevated blood pressure, prompting him to administer necessary injections from the flight's medical supplies to stabilise her condition.

Dr Gigy's prompt actions not only stabilised the passenger but also prevented a potential flight delay.

Upon landing, a medical team was on standby to transfer the woman to a hospital, where she was admitted to the ICU and is now recovering, according to hospital staff.
