New Delhi, May 18: After days of dramas and U-Turns, Bibhav Kumar, a close aide of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, has been arrested in Swati Maliwal assault case.
Rajya Saba MP and former chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women Swati Maliwal has accused Bibhav Kumar of hitting her with full force again and again and kicking her in stomach and slapping her seven to eight times. She has also alleged that Bibhav Kumar didn't stop even when she urged him that she had been menstruating and in pain.
Notably, the Delhi Police forensic science laboratory team had also visited Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence following the allegations of assault by AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. The team collected CCTV footage from the entry and exit points and transferred the data onto a pen drive.
It comes in the wake of Swati Maliwal's claims that "CCTV cameras at the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's residence had been tampered with. The forensic team had collected the data to verify these allegations and gather evidence related to the incident.
The MLC report of Swati Maliwal also indicates at bruises over her left leg and her right cheek. The Medico-legal Case report was filed after an examination of Swati Maliwal on the night of May 16. The examination was carried out at Jai Prakash Narayan Apex Trauma Centre at AIIMS Delhi.
The report stated that Swati Maliwal had a bruise of the size of 3x2 cm over the "proximal left leg dorsal aspect" and another bruise of the size of 2x2 cm over her "right cheek below her right eye".

She enters the camp office and attempts to contact CM's aide Bibhav Kumar via WhatsApp

Maliwal informs the staff present that she is there to meet the CM and is told to wait in the drawing room
Inside the Residence, Swati Maliwal is informed that the CM is in the house and will meet her soon
Swati Maliwal waits in the drawing room on the sofa
CM's PS Bibhav Kumar enters the room abruptly, screaming and abusing her without any provocation
Swati is physically assaults by Bibhav Kumar, slaps her seven to eight times
Maliwal screams for help and tries to defend herself by pushing Kumar away with her legs
Kumar drags Swati Maliwal, pulls her shirt up, and causes her to hit her head on the center table
Kumar continues to assault Maliwal, kicking her in the chest, stomach, and pelvis area, despite her pleas to stop
Maliwal files a complaint; Maliwal describes the incident in detail to the Delhi Police
