PTC News Desk: A State Reserve Police Force jawan (SRPF) assigned to cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar's security detail killed himself by shooting himself at his native home in Jamner town, authorities informed said on Wednesday.

The security personnel has been identified as Prakash Kapde, who reportedly took a brief vacation to his ancestral home.

Kapde, 39, is survived by his parents, wife, two minor children, a brother, and other family members.

Kiran Shinde, Senior Police Inspector at Jamner Police Station, stated that the incident occurred at the victim's home around 1:30 a.m. today and that the exact reasons for the alleged suicide are being investigated.

"As per preliminary investigations, he may have taken the extreme step for personal reasons, but we are waiting for the full details of the investigation," Shinde said.

Kapde's body has been sent for an autopsy, and the Jamner Police Department has filed an accidental death report pending further investigation, which will include questioning his family, colleagues, and other acquaintances.

According to sources, the SRPF will likely conduct an independent investigation into the incident because it involves a jawan assigned to VVIP security.
