'Son of Sardar' director's 18-year-old son dies in car crash

Jalaj, 18, went on a drive with three of his friends: Sahil Mendha (18), Sarth Kaushik (18), and Jedan Jimmy (18). According to the report, Sahil, the driver, was drunk and lost control of the car near the Sahara Star Hotel. He crashed the vehicle into a divider.
Sahil and Jedan escaped the crash with minor injuries. Jalaj and Sarth, who were sitting in the back seat, sustained significant injuries. They died after being taken to the hospital. Jalaj was first transferred to Jogeshwari East and then to Kokilaben Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
According to the FPJ report, Jimmy stated that Sahil had beer at a friend's house before returning to Jalaj's home around 11 p.m. on November 22. They decided to go for a drive around 3:30 a.m. on November 23. Jedan drove the car, then Sahil took over, and they arrived in Bandra at about 4.10 a.m.
According to Jimmy, Sahil drove the car at 120-150 km/h on the return journey. The Mumbai Police arrested Sahil after Jedan's complaint was received. His blood samples have been sent for testing.
Ashwni, Jalaj's late father, wrote and produced several television shows. He has directed films like One Two Three (2008), Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge (2010), and Son Of Sardaar (2012), which stars Ajay Devgn, and Guest in London (2017). He has also created various television serials, including Lapataganj, Chidiya Ghar, Neeli Chatri Waale, Peterson Hill, Khatmal E Ishq, and Har Shaakh Pe Ullu Baithaa Hai.
