Sidhu Moosewala murder: Security officials leave for Azerbaijan to apprehend gangster Sachin Bishnoi

Sidhu Moosewala murder: A team of security agencies has been dispatched to Azerbaijan to arrest gangster Sachin Bishnoi, one of the main conspirators in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. 

Sachin Bishnoi, the nephew of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was on the run since May of last year, fleeing the nation using a forged passport.

The Delhi Police Special Cell is expected to arrive in Azerbaijan Sunday night. A joint team of four officers, including an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and two Counter Intelligence Unit Inspectors, has been charged with ensuring Sachin Bishnoi's extradition to India.

Since Moosewala's murder, Sachin Bishnoi's role in the killing has been the focus of extensive investigation. His arrest and extradition are expected to result in several significant revelations in the murder case.

Sachin Bishnoi was detained in Azerbaijan last year. The process of his extradition is expected to begin with the Indian security agencies' arrival.

Sidhu Moosewala murder

On May 29, 2022, Punjabi artist Sidhu Moose Wala was killed in Jawaharke village of Mansa district. Goldy Brar, an infamous member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, accepted in a Facebook post a day later that he organized the murder to avenge the death of another gangster. Police then identified Brar as the murder's mastermind.
