PTC News Desk: A security breach took place at a Bengaluru event attended by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah this morning when a 24-year-old man raced towards the platform where he was sitting.

Security forces moved swiftly and caught him before he could approach the chief minister at the 'International Day of Democracy' event.

The man has been identified as Mahadeva from Talgatpura in Kanakpura. He was reportedly an avid admirer of Siddaramaiah and intended to present him with a shawl. He was seen holding a shawl as he climbed the stage.

The police have arrested Mahadeva and are verifying his credentials.

Siddaramaiah, who spoke earlier in the day, stated that his government is committed to building a state in which democracy and secularism thrive.

A 2,500-kilometer-long human chain, dubbed the "world's longest" by the Karnataka government, was formed to represent equality, unity, and fraternity across the state's 31 districts.

Siddaramaiah and other top ministers participated in the human chain formation in front of the Vidhana Soudha.
