Saif Ali Khan attacked: Mumbai witnessed a terrifying incident on Thursday when an intruder broke into actor Saif Ali Khan's Bandra residence in the early hours of the morning. The attacker targeted the room of Saif and Kareena Kapoor’s youngest son, Jehangir Ali Khan, where he was spotted by a house help, triggering a violent encounter.

The Disturbing Sequence of Events

The incident was reported around 2 am on January 16. Eliyama Philip, a 56-year-old house help, recounted the harrowing ordeal to the police. Earlier that night, Philip had fed and put four-year-old Jehangir, affectionately called Jeh Baba, to bed. She and her colleague settled in for the night, unaware of the looming threat.

Philip woke up in the middle of the night to unusual noises and noticed the bathroom light in Jehangir’s room was on. Initially dismissing it as Kareena Kapoor checking on her son, she lay back down but couldn’t shake a sense of unease. Peering towards the bathroom, she saw a man emerge and approach Jehangir's bed.

Alarmed, Philip immediately moved to protect the child. The intruder, armed with a stick in one hand and a thin blade in the other, warned her to stay silent. As Jehangir’s nanny, Junu, also woke up, the man threatened her as well.

Philip confronted the attacker, asking him what he wanted and offering money. He demanded Rs 1 crore. When she attempted to shield Jehangir, the intruder slashed her hands with the blade, causing injuries.

The commotion drew Kareena Kapoor to the room, followed by Saif Ali Khan, who confronted the assailant. Saif questioned the man’s identity and intentions, but the intruder attacked him with the wooden stick and blade, inflicting injuries on his neck, shoulder, wrist, and back.

Another staff member, Geeta, entered the room to help but was also attacked. Despite their injuries, the staff managed to flee the room with Jehangir and locked the door from outside.

The noise woke other staff members, who joined the effort to subdue the intruder. However, when they returned to Jehangir’s room, the man had fled.

The staff described the attacker as a slim man of about 35-40 years, standing approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall. He had a dark complexion, wore dark pants and a shirt, and had a cap on his head.

Saif Ali Khan sustained multiple injuries, including cuts to his neck, shoulder, wrist, and back, with visible bleeding. Geeta suffered injuries to her wrist, back, and face. Both were rushed to Lilavati Hospital for treatment. Saif underwent surgery and is now in stable condition.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident, treating it as a case of burglary and attempted assault. Security footage from the residence and surrounding areas is being reviewed to identify the intruder.
