PTC News Desk: The first session of the newly elected Jammu and Kashmir assembly commenced with a bitter note as ruckus broke out over a resolution against Article 370 abrogation. People's Democratic Party (PDP) MLA Waheed Para moved a resolution opposing the abrogation of Article 370 and called for restoring the union territory's special status.

Soon after Para started reading resolution, BJP lawmakers launched protest. The speaker adjourned the house amid chaos to meet again for L-G Manoj Sinha's address.
In spite not part of the agenda, a resolution was submittedto the newly elected speaker Abdul Rahim Rather and requested discussion on the matter during the five day session.

“This house opposes the revocation of special status of J&K and constitutional disempowerment of Jammu and Kashmir through the J&K reorganisation Act, 2-19 and calls for its complete rescinding,” reads the resolution.
“House further resolves to strive for the restoration of special status and all constitutional guarantees granted to Jammu and Kashmir in their original prisitine form,” it read.
