Roof at Delhi Airport that collapsed constructed by GMR in 2008-09: Government sources
PTC News Desk: According to government sources on Friday, GMR hired private contractors to complete the 2008–09 construction of the ceiling that collapsed at Delhi airport's Terminal 1.
Officials from the administration responded when prominent Congressmen Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra blamed the BJP government for the roof collapse on X.
Vadra went so far as to inquire as to whether the prime minister would accept accountability for the “sub-standard” building projects and corruption that have been observed in Ayodhya, Jabalpur, and the Delhi airport.
Following intense rain on Friday morning, a portion of Delhi Terminal 1's roof fell, killing a taxi driver and injuring six others.
"We are taking the incident seriously," declared Ram Mohan Naidu, the minister of civil aviation, after visiting the site of the fall. To be clear, the building that collapsed here was an old building that was opened in 2009, and the building that PM Narendra Modi inaugurated is on the opposite side."
Naidu went to Safdajung Hospital from the airport in Delhi to visit the accident victims.
