PTC Web Desk: Traffic slowed Punjab BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu down as he was on his way to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's official residence in central Delhi on Sunday.

Bittu did not want to be late, so he left his vehicle and started running on the road, with guards in tow. Visuals showing Bittu running at a roundabout before entering PM Modi's official residence have been widely circulated on social media.

"One should never be late," he said to the media, adding that many leaders were arriving, so he chose to get down and run rather than wait in the traffic.

Bittu lost the Lok Sabha election in Ludhiana to the Congress's Amrinder Singh Raja Warring by a large majority. However, the Punjab BJP leader will be part of Modi's 3.0 cabinet. He had represented Ludhiana in Modi 2.0.

Bittu is the grandson of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, a hero of the state's anti-terrorism campaign who was killed in a terror strike while still in office.
