PM Modi returns to India after attending 16th BRICS Summit in Russia

Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to Delhi following a two-day visit to Russia, where he attended the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan.

PTC News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to Delhi following a two-day visit to Russia, where he attended the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan.

He also met with several world leaders on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

He described the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia, as "very productive". He expressed gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the people of Russia, and their government for their hospitality.

PM Modi went to X to reveal glimpses of his trip to Russia. During his visit to Russia, PM Modi spoke at two BRICS Summit sessions in Kazan, which were hosted by Russia.

PM Modi shared in a video posted on X that  "The BRICS Summit in Kazan was very productive. Had the opportunity to discuss diverse issues and meet various world leaders. I thank President Putin, the Russian people and Government for their hospitality. Here are the highlights."

PM Modi was seen engaging in the BRICS Summit in Kazan in a video posted to X. The video showed PM Modi interacting with many foreign leaders, including UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

On Wednesday, PM Modi also met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in Kazan. PM Modi said on X, "Happy to have interacted with President Abdelfattah Elsisi in Ka."

He also met with Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Kazan to discuss measures to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

"Had a wonderful meeting with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Kazan. Discussed ways to boost bilateral cooperation between India and Uzbekistan including trade and cultural linkages," PM Modi said.

PM Narendra Modi met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Kazan, Russia, on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit.

The meeting is the first formal, structured encounter between the two leaders in five years. The meeting follows the two countries' decision to resume regular patrolling along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.
