PM Modi, Prez Murmu extend greeting on Guru Nanak Dev Ji Gurpurab

Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, imparted teachings that emphasise spiritual wisdom, equality, humility, and devotion to God.

PTC News Desk: Prime Minister Modi extended greeting on Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Gurpurab on Friday and wished that his teachings inspire people to further the spirit of compassion, kindness and humility.


"Greetings on the auspicious occasion of Sri Guru Nanak Jayanti. May the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji inspire us to further the spirit of compassion, kindness and humility. May it also motivate us to serve society and make our planet better," PM Modi said on X.



President Droupadi Murmu also took to her social media platform and urged people to adopt Guru Nanak Dev Ji's teachings and principles. "It is our collective responsibility to embody his teachings and work toward a harmonious and egalitarian society,” she said. 


Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal, Member of Parliament Harsimrat Kaur Badal and senior leader Bikram Singh Majithia also greeted people on this auspicious day. 

Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, imparted teachings that emphasise spiritual wisdom, equality, humility, and devotion to God. His teachings, encapsulated in Gurbani (the sacred hymns written by the Gurus), serve as a guide to living a truthful, compassionate, and righteous life.
