PM Modi counters Rahul Gandhi's 'Shakti' remark, says ' I accept challenge'

PTC Web Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has swiftly responded to Rahul Gandhi's recent remarks on 'Shakti,' expressing his deep reverence for feminine power and issuing a steadfast rebuttal at a rally in Jagtial, Telangana. Rahul Gandhi's comments, made during an address in Maharashtra, underscored concerns regarding the integrity of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and highlighted the opposition's struggle against the perceived might of the state, particularly referencing the ruling party led by Narendra Modi.

In his response, PM Narendra Modi emphasised his unwavering commitment to uphold and protect 'Shakti,' referring to every mother, daughter, and sister as embodiments of this power. PM Modi said he worshiped them in this form and considered himself a devout follower of Bharat Mata, the personification of India as a motherland. 

Drawing attention to the opposition alliance's manifesto, which allegedly declared a fight against 'Shakti,' Modi boldly accepted the challenge posed by such rhetoric. He said his government stood firm in its dedication to empowering women and preserving their inherent strength. PM Modi's words resonated with the crowd as he articulated his resolve to confront any attempts aimed at undermining 'Shakti,' aligning himself with the forces that worship and revere feminine power.

Further reinforcing his stance, PM Modi cited the example of India's space achievements, specifically the Chandrayaan mission. He highlighted the significance of naming the point where Chandrayaan landed as 'Shiv Shakti,' symbolising the union of masculine and feminine energies. 

As the election campaign unfolds, the debate over 'Shakti' is likely to remain a central theme, with both sides seeking to leverage it to their advantage. For Modi and the ruling party, it represents a rallying cry for unity and strength, while for the opposition, it serves as a symbol of resistance against perceived authoritarianism and centralisation of power.
