PTC News Desk: The Kerala government said on Tuesday that pilgrims who visit Sabarimala without a virtual queue registration will be able to have a smooth darshan at the Lord Ayyappa temple.

In the face of strong opposition, the Pinarayi Vijayan government reversed its prior plans to only provide darshan through online registration for the upcoming pilgrimage season.

Chief Minister Vijayan announced in the Assembly while responding to V Joy's (CPI-M) submission.

"Pilgrims who arrive without (online) registration will also have access to smooth darshan facilities...Darshan will be provided to individuals who do not register online and arrive without knowing about the system," he stated.

Similar facilities were also offered in the hill temple during the previous pilgrim season, he said.

However, the chief minister did not clarify in his brief statement whether the spot booking system, as well as virtual queue booking, would be retained as they were the previous year.
