Parliament Monsoon Session: Today is the thirteenth day of the Parliament's monsoon session is Wednesday. The meeting is set to conclude on August 12 provided it isn't adjourned sine die. It started on July 22. It's probable that several important laws will be introduced during the day.

But there's no word on if or when the much-discussed Waqf Act amending bill would be introduced during the Monsoon Session. To be fair, there has been no official word on whether or not the Waqf Act is being changed, despite stories in the media suggesting that the government has approved up to 40 revisions.

Tuesday saw Members of Parliament (MPs) informed by External Affairs Minister (EAM) Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on the state of affairs in neighboring Bangladesh, where the Awami League administration led by Sheikh Hasina was overthrown the day before due to protests that lasted for a month. After being compelled to leave her home, Hasina—who is currently serving a record-breaking fifth term as prime minister of Bangladesh—came to India, where she is expected to remain for the foreseeable future.

An all-party meeting on Bangladesh was held on Tuesday as well. Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, was among the opposition leaders present at the meeting, which was presided over by EAM Jaishankar.

This is a developing story, stay tuned.
