Gurugram/Palwal, August 13: Today, a significant 'mahapanchayat' convened by Hindu organizations is taking place in Pondri village, Haryana. The assembly will determine whether the VHP's Braj Mandal Yatra in Nuh, which was disrupted on July 31 due to communal violence, will resume.

Officials have confirmed that the 'Sarva Jatiye Mahapanchayat' had initially been scheduled for Kira village in Nuh district. However, due to prevailing law and order concerns, permission was denied for that location. The event has now been authorized to occur in Palwal, as per Deputy Superintendent of Police (headquarters), Palwal, Sandeep Mor.

Both Palwal and Nuh are neighboring districts in Haryana. The 'Sarv Hindu Samaj', comprising various Hindu organizations including the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), is orchestrating the mahapanchayat. Authorities have sanctioned a gathering of around 500 people for the event and emphasized that stern measures will be taken against anyone making hate speech.

The region was marred by communal clashes when a VHP procession was attacked by a mob, leading to the unfortunate demise of six individuals, including two home guards and a cleric. Against this backdrop, the 'mahapanchayat' assumes heightened significance as it addresses the situation and discusses the potential resumption of the Braj Mandal Yatra.

Devender Singh, a prominent VHP leader from Gurugram, declared that the yatra will recommence on August 28 in Nuh, following the previous incident of attack and disruption.
