Noida: 73-year-old woman dies in lift mishap after cable snaps in high-rise housing complex
PTC Web Desk: A 73-year-old woman tragically passed away on Thursday due to a possible cardiac arrest after the cable of a lift at a Noida housing complex snapped, causing the lift to experience a free fall between floors.
The lift did not hit the ground and got stuck between some of the middle floors of the building. The incident took place in a high-rise society, Tierra Society in Sector 137, Noida. Further details are currently being investigated to ascertain the exact sequence of events.
According to the preliminary findings, the woman was alone in the lift when its wire snapped, causing a free fall. The incident occurred at Paras Tierra Society in Sector 137, under Police Station Sector 142 area. As a result of the lift malfunction, the woman fainted and was immediately rushed to Felix Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, she passed away around an hour after the incident, at approximately 5.30 pm. The police have also issued a statement regarding the incident.
According to a doctor from Felix Hospital, she had injuries on the back of her head and abrasions on her elbows, likely caused by the fall of the lift. When she arrived at the hospital, she had no pulse, and her eyelids were dilated, indicating the possibility of a cardiac arrest likely triggered by the suddenness of the lift incident.
