New Parliament building inauguration: Special pujas, elaborate ceremony to take place on May 28
New Delhi, May 25: Various Vedic rituals will be done ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's inauguration of the new Parliament building on May 28, according to sources on Thursday. The inauguration ceremony will begin at around 12 p.m., but preparations will start in the morning.
Everyone involved with the function has remained completely silent about any detail, including the day's schedule.
However, it is known from credible sources that an elaborate ceremony will take place in the morning on May 28, beginning at 7:30 a.m. with pujas performed in the Vedic ritual way. These pujas will continue till 9 a.m., after which the inauguration ceremony is scheduled to commence around noon.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Deputy Chairman Hariwansh, and a couple of top officials are expected to attend the morning pujas," sources said.
"Special priests from across the country will be coming down and performing the pujas," they claimed.
All invited visitors, including members of Parliament, the Lok Sabha Speaker and Rajya Sabha, the chairman, and other notable guests, are anticipated to be seated in the Lok Sabha chamber in the new building at 11:30 a.m.
The function is scheduled to begin about 12 p.m. and conclude around 1:30 p.m.
"During the function, the secret Sengol will be installed in the Central Hall of Parliament in the new building, which is essentially the Lok Sabha chamber. A speech will be delivered by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to make the closing speech," sources added.
