Mumbai accident: 5 pilgrims killed, 30 injured after bus collides with tractor and falls into ditch on Mumbai-Pune Expressway

As per the reports, a total of 42 passengers from Dombivli were on their way to Pandharpur when the fatal incident unfolded

Mumbai accident: In a horrific and fatal accident, five passengers killed and 30 injured after a passenger bus collided with a tractor and plunged into a ditch near the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday

The victims were warkaris (devotees of Lord Vitthal) traveling from their hometown of Dombivli near Mumbai to Pandharpur for the Ashadhi Ekadashi celebrations.  

As per the reports, a total of 42 passengers from Dombivli were on their way to Pandharpur when the fatal incident unfolded. 


All the injured were admitted to a nearby hospital.

Officials reported that a bus carrying devotees from Kesar village in Dombivli to Pandharpur in Maharashtra met with an accident. 

The incident disrupted vehicular movement on the Mumbai-Lonavala lane of the Mumbai Express Highway. 


A crane was used to retrieve the bus, and traffic on the lane resumed after three hours.
