PTC News Desk: Diwali the festival of lights which holds great reverence in Hindu traditions is incomplete about Laxmi Puja. It is one of the most important ritual performed during Diwali. However there are certain mistakes that we should avoid while performing the Puja.


Skipping cleanliness:  Before starting the puja, make sure that the house is thoroughly cleaned. Goddess Laxmi is believed to bless the homes that are cleaned and well-maintained.

Using broken items: Avoid using broken idols or damaged items during Lakshmi puja as it is considered disrespectful.  

Improper placement of idols: Place your idols always in right direction that is facing you with Goddess Laxmi to right hand side of Lord Ganesha.

Lack of Illumination: Diwali is renowned for its luminosity. Ensure your home is adorned with radiant diyas, candles, and vibrant lights to warmly welcome Goddess Laxmi. 

Not offering sweets: Offering sweets is one of the most important step of Puja which symbolizes abundance and hospitality.

Neglecting financial book: In households that run business, it is essential to worship financial books and tools during Laxmi Puja which is believed to bring wealth and prosperity.

Impersonal Engagement: Foster a sincere and personal connection during the puja. Recognise it not merely as a ritual, but as an opportunity to deeply connect with the divine.
