Massive fire engulfs Maha Kumbh tents after cylinder explosion, PM dials CM Yogi
According to reports, fire broke out at the camp site, engulfing at least 18 tents installed in the area. A team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) also reached the spot to assist fire officials in dousing the blaze.
PTC News Desk: Massive fire broke out at the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela after two to three cylinders exploded in the Sector 19 campsite area. So far the blaze has been under control as several fire tenders deployed as a part of security arrangements rushed to the spot.
According to reports, fire broke out at the camp site, engulfing at least 18 tents installed in the area. A team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) also reached the spot to assist fire officials in dousing the blaze.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Yogi Adityanath, seeking information about the fire incident.
The Maha Kumbh 2025 official X handle posted, "Very sad! The fire incident at #MahaKumbh has shocked everyone. The administration is ensuring immediate relief and rescue operations. We pray Maa Ganga for everyone's safety".
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed senior officials to visit the site and provide assistance to those affected by the fire.
