Massive avalanche hits Gandhi Sarovar in Uttarakhand's Kedarnath

PTC Web Desk: An avalanche occurred over Gandhi Sarovar in Kedarnath in Uttarakhand on Sunday.

“There was an avalanche from above Gandhi Sarovar in Kedarnath at around 5 am today. There was no loss of life or property,” said Rudraprayag senior superintendent of police (SSP) Dr Vishakha Ashok Bhadane.

An avalanche is defined as the rapid flow of snow down a hill or mountainside. Its alarm signs include cracking sounds, visible fractures in the snow, and recent heavy snowfall.

There has been no reported loss of life or property.
