Mann Ki Baat: PM Modi praises young aspirants to join politics, promises to strengthen democracy
In his monthly 'Mann Ki Baat' broadcast, Prime Minister Modi stated that his call on Independence Day for one lakh young people who have no political history to enter politics has generated a lot of response and encouraged young people to get involved in public life in order to strengthen democracy.
PTC News Desk: On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised the significant strides India is making in the 21st century, which are reinforcing the foundation for a "Viksit Bharat" (Developed India).
In his monthly "Mann Ki Baat" broadcast, Modi reflected on his Independence Day appeal for one lakh (100,000) youth without any political background to join the political arena. He noted the wide and positive reactions to this call and encouraged young people to engage in public life to foster a more developed India and a stronger democracy.
Modi highlighted the historical context, recalling how numerous individuals from diverse backgrounds joined the freedom movement despite lacking political experience. Their dedication was instrumental in achieving India’s independence, and he urged a revival of that spirit to realise the vision of a developed India.

He acknowledged the enthusiasm among young people to enter politics, stressing that they only need the right opportunities and guidance to make a difference. Modi noted that many youngsters have reached out to him via letters and social media, expressing concerns that familial political dynamics often stifle new talent.
During the broadcast, Modi also engaged with young entrepreneurs leading various space start-ups, who shared their innovative work and praised the burgeoning space ecosystem in India. The Prime Minister acknowledged the benefits the youth have gained from reforms in the space sector.
Modi commemorated India's first National Space Day on August 23, marking the one-year anniversary of the country’s successful lunar landing. He emphasized the importance of collective efforts in environmental conservation and highlighted ongoing initiatives aimed at improving the environment.
