PTC News Desk: With Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal staying in jail, former deputy Manish Sisodia has taken over the party's campaign for assembly elections in the national capital and Haryana.
The Supreme Court granted Sisodia bail in corruption and money laundering cases related to the Delhi liquor policy issue, and he would meet with senior party members today.
The 52-year-old stepped out of Tihar jail on Friday after spending 17 months behind bars.
The AAP leaders' meeting is slated for 6 p.m. at Sisodia's residence. The meeting is expected to focus on the party's electoral strategy and preparations for the Delhi assembly elections next year. The gathering will most likely include discussions about major campaign strategy, candidate selection, and mobilising support to maintain and strengthen their position in the Delhi legislative assembly.
Assembly elections in Haryana, where the AAP has indicated that it will be contesting all 90 assembly seats, are scheduled for later this year, while polls in Delhi's 70 constituencies are slated to be held in early 2025.
