PTC News Desk: A curfew has been re-imposed in three districts of Manipur—Imphal East, Imphal West, and Thoubal—following a sharp escalation in violence and unrest in the region.

The situation in Manipur has deteriorated, marked by a surge in violent incidents and ongoing protests. In response to the heightened tensions and recent drone and rocket attacks, authorities have taken stringent measures to restore order.

Initially, the district magistrates of Imphal East and Imphal West had planned to ease curfew restrictions from 5 am to 10 am on Tuesday. However, given the rapidly evolving law and order situation, this relaxation was abruptly canceled. The curfew was reinstated at 11 am on Tuesday, with the district magistrates citing the need to address the immediate security concerns.

The decision to impose a curfew reflects the seriousness of the situation and aims to prevent further violence and ensure public safety amid the ongoing conflict.
