The tragic incident occurred on August 9, when the young woman was assaulted and killed in a seminar room within the hospital premises.
The victim, a trainee doctor, had gone to the seminar room to rest during her long shift that extended into the early hours of the morning. Tragically, her lifeless body was discovered the following morning by a junior doctor who entered the room.
A post-mortem examination revealed the horrifying details of the crime. The autopsy indicated that the victim had been both raped and murdered, with forensic findings documenting 25 internal and external injuries on her body. These findings paint a grim picture of the violence she endured.
